Do you pre-wash batik fabrics?
Because of the way batik fabrics are made, it’s wise to pre-wash batik fabrics to test whether or not the dyes used in their creation will run. Most batiks will still contain the wax and dried dyes used during the dyeing process. Most should be hand-washed, but some can be machine washed, so it’s best to assess each fabric individually.
