As we continue our impressive growth trend, we are seeking a full-time Controller to join our team.

Job Summary

This is a new position and a great opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives as a self-directed, one-person department. Our team is small, moves quickly and provides the resources for you to be successful. We are looking for a candidate with a clear vision to establish and develop the appropriate systems and processes as we continue to grow.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Lead and advise management on financial matters
  • Reconcile purchase orders, invoices, packing slips and statements to ensure accuracy; follow up with vendors to correct errors
  • Manage nexus for sales tax purposes including reporting and auditing
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of the business
  • Keep up-to-date on the financial market to gain insight in increasing profits
  • Oversee regulatory reporting, including compliance; understand the financials of the company to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing
  • Manage AP/AR
  • Process payroll, manage 401K processing & requirements,
  • Identify and mitigate risk & liability
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Strong mathematical and computation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate successfully with management, vendors and government entities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and the highest standards of ethical conduct
  • Must be a self-starter / motivated with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

 

Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of international finance as it pertains to the sales of goods overseas
  • Candidates with experience in Purchasing or Human Resource Management will be given special consideration
  • Experience advising on and implementing new procedures and systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors

Additional Information

This position requires on-site attendance Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
