As we continue our impressive growth trend, we are seeking a full-time Assistant Inventory Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

Shabby Fabrics is seeking an Assistant Inventory Specialist to join our team and help with purchasing fabric & notions from suppliers. This individual is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, running reports, tracking purchase orders, and preparing our internal system for product delivery to our warehouse. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with placing purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Review inventory levels, make suggested buys and identify poor sellers & over-inventoried products.
  • Work with suppliers to acquire detailed product information including images, pricing, descriptions, etc. for our internal product & marketing teams.
  • Follow up on purchase orders and adjust expected arrival dates & quantities.
  • Use packing list details to prepare our receiving team for daily deliveries.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
