Quilt Retreat at Lakeside Cabins FAQ

Shabby Fabrics’ Quilt Retreat at Lakeside Cabins is hosted by Camp Lutherhaven, located in beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This mountainous terrain features an abundance of mature pine trees and views of Lake Coeur d’ Alene situated at approximately 2400 feet above sea-level. This is a true “camp” in the sense that it does not include paved walkways and elaborate accommodations; quilters should be prepared for dirt walkways, bunk beds, and more rugged conditions around the Lutherhaven campus.

Lutherhaven is a beautiful and rustic venue that may not be suitable for individuals with mobility issues. The terrain includes uneven paths, stairs, and limited accessibility features. We want all attendees to have a safe and enjoyable experience, so please consider these factors when deciding to attend. If you have any specific concerns or need more details about accessibility, please contact us directly.

Click the big, green ribbon that says RESERVE YOUR SPOT and select the date for the retreat you would like to attend. (If you are not already signed in to your Shabby Fabrics customer account, you will need to sign in. If you do not already have a Shabby Fabrics account, you will need to create one.) Follow the instructions on the sign-up form and continue until you have received confirmation of your registration. PLEASE NOTE: Once you begin the registration process, your spot will be reserved for only 15 minutes. Be sure you are prepared with payment information before beginning the registration process.

If you would like to register another person for the same retreat date, that person will need to create an account and sign up separately.

We will be providing updates via email and/or text, but we will also send a Welcome Packet that includes details specific to your quilt retreat. PLEASE NOTE: Welcome Packets will not ship until full payment is received.

We recommend paying in full at the time of registration, but if you choose to make a partial payment to secure your spot, the remaining balance will be automatically charged on the specified due date for your event. The final payment will be processed automatically, billed to the same card used at the time of registration. The due date for final payments will be listed with the event details if it is far enough in advance.

Feel free to bring any projects you're currently working on or have been eager to start. Additionally, we have selected a lovely array of projects that you can either entirely complete or mostly complete at the retreat. Purchase your favorite kit(s) from our Quilt Retreat Projects Category now. Jen and Tammy will be at the retreat and offering demonstrations for Tips & Techniques on how to complete these projects throughout the week. To maximize your sewing time, we recommend you purchase your kit(s) now, thoroughly read the instructions and cut the fabrics in your kit(s) before arriving.

We acknowledge that things happen unexpectedly; for this reason, we offer the ability to transfer any payment (partial or full) to a future event OR to another quilter.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to events@shabbyfabrics.com. Please include a statement regarding the reason you are cancelling. Indicate the future retreat that you would like to apply your payment toward OR the name of the quilter you would like to transfer your spot to.

If you have a life event prohibiting you from attending the quilt retreat and you are unable to attend a future retreat or transfer your spot to another quilter, you may request a refund. There is a $100 non-refundable fee to cover credit card processing fees and administrative costs.

At Camp Lutherhaven, there are no paved roads, parking lots or walkways as the camp is built in the mountains making movement in a wheelchair, walker or scooter extremely difficult. For 2025, we are seeking additional retreat venues that will be more handicap accessible.

Local quilters who wish to drive home each night may do so but Lutherhaven charges the same amount whether quilters stay in camp or drive home each night.
