Where Can I Find the Best Selection of Quilting Fabric Online?

When you're searching for quilting fabric online, selection matters—but so do quality, coordination, and being able to find the right fabric without searching endlessly.

Shabby Fabrics offers more than 20,000 fabrics and precuts, giving quilters an extensive selection of premium quilting fabrics from leading manufacturers, sought-after designers, favorite collections, classic basics, seasonal prints, specialty fabrics, and coordinated precuts.

But we don't believe a great online quilt shop should simply buy every fabric available.

Our fabric assortment is carefully curated. We evaluate collections and select fabrics we believe meet our standards for quality, beauty, usability, and the kinds of projects our customers love to make. That allows us to offer tremendous variety while maintaining the thoughtful point of view Shabby Fabrics is known for.

Whether you know the exact collection you're looking for or simply know you need the perfect blue floral, Christmas print, reproduction fabric, backing, panel, or Jelly Roll, we've organized our fabric assortment to help you find it.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Collection

Love a fabric collection and want to see everything that coordinates?

Shop Fabric by Collection to explore coordinating prints, colors, yardage, and available precuts together.

Shopping by collection makes it easier to build a quilt with fabrics intentionally designed to work together. Instead of wondering whether colors, print scales, and styles coordinate, you can browse fabrics created as part of the same designer collection.

It's especially helpful when you're choosing fabrics for quilts, table runners, wall hangings, bags, pillows, appliqué, patchwork, or other projects where multiple coordinating prints are needed.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Manufacturer

Have a favorite fabric company?

Browse Quilting Fabrics by Manufacturer to discover fabrics and collections from many of quilting's leading manufacturers.

Our assortment includes fabrics from major quilting brands across traditional, contemporary, seasonal, reproduction, novelty, batik, basic, and specialty fabric categories.

Shopping by manufacturer is particularly useful when you already know the hand, printing quality, design aesthetic, or color palette you enjoy from a favorite fabric company.

It also makes it easier to discover new collections from manufacturers you already know and trust.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Designer

Sometimes it's the designer you fall in love with.

Shop Fabric by Designer to find collections and fabrics from many beloved quilting designers and design houses.

Explore fabrics from designers and brands such as 3 Sisters, Edyta Sitar and Laundry Basket Quilts, Lori Holt, Tula Pink, Corey Yoder, French General, Lella Boutique, Robin Pickens, Ruby Star Society, Sherri & Chelsi, Zen Chic, and many more.

Designer pages make it easy to follow a favorite creative voice across multiple collections, coordinate new fabrics with older favorites, or discover another designer whose style feels perfectly at home in your sewing room.

Shop Quilt Fabric by Color

Sometimes you don't need a particular collection—you simply need the perfect color.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Color to narrow an enormous fabric selection into the palette your project needs.

Whether you're searching for a soft cream background, rich navy, romantic pink, Christmas red, leafy green, warm gold, earthy brown, crisp white, sophisticated black, or a multicolor print that ties everything together, shopping by color can help you find fabrics that complement the quilt already taking shape.

This is especially useful when you need an additional border, binding, background, blender, backing, or coordinating print rather than an entire collection.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Theme

Have a specific project or motif in mind? Our Fabrics by Theme make it easy to find prints that tell exactly the story you want your quilt to tell.

Explore themes including 1930s, animals, autumn, baby, bees, berries and fruit, birds, birthdays, bows and ribbons, butterflies, calico, candy and food, cardinals, cats, cheater fabric, checkered prints, chickens, Christian fabrics, Christmas, circles and dots, coffee, damask, ditsy prints, dogs, Easter, farm animals, florals, frosted and pearlized fabrics, geometric prints, ginghams and plaids, glitter, glow in the dark, gnomes, Halloween, hearts, hobbies, houndstooth, kids, leaves and vines, marbled and mottled fabrics, metallics, modern fabrics, mushrooms, novelty prints, ocean/coastal/nautical fabrics, ombré, ornamental prints, outdoors, outer space, owls, paisley, patriotic, poinsettias, polka dots, pumpkins, reproduction fabrics, retro, roses, Santa Claus, scallops and fans, shabby and pretty, snowflakes, snowmen, St. Patrick's Day, stars, stripes, sunflowers, swirls and scrolls, teddy bears, textures, toile, tonals, trees and branches, trucks and vehicles, unicorns, Valentine's Day, vintage, watercolor, white on white, wildlife, winter, wood textures, words, and more.

That breadth makes Shabby Fabrics a powerful destination whether you're making a Christmas quilt, patriotic table runner, floral bed quilt, vintage reproduction project, baby quilt, Halloween wall hanging, snowman appliqué project, or something completely unique.

Find Fabrics for Every Season

Quilters love to sew with the seasons, and seasonal fabric is one of the areas where Shabby Fabrics offers exceptional variety.

Browse festive Christmas fabrics, snowmen, snowflakes, Santa Claus, poinsettias, winter prints, hearts and Valentine's Day fabrics, Easter and spring designs, patriotic and Americana fabrics, autumn leaves, pumpkins, harvest prints, Halloween fabrics, and much more.

Seasonal fabric can be used for everything from full-size quilts to Table Runner Patterns, Mats and Table Toppers, Wall Hangings, Placemat Patterns, pillows, bags, and handmade gifts.

Shop Quilting Fabric by Type

Different quilting projects call for different fabrics.

Browse Fabrics by Type to find 108" quilt backings, basics, batiks, border prints, digital prints, flannel, fleece, minky, muslin, panels, rayon, solids, wool, wovens, and other specialty fabrics.

108" Quilt Backings

Wide quilt backing fabrics can eliminate or reduce the need to piece multiple lengths of standard-width fabric together for the back of a quilt.

They're particularly convenient for larger quilts and provide a beautiful, continuous finish across the back.

Basics, Solids & Tonals

Every fabric stash needs dependable supporting fabrics.

Basics, solids, tonals, textures, dots, stripes, blenders, and subtle prints provide the visual resting places that allow feature fabrics to shine. They're invaluable for backgrounds, borders, sashing, bindings, appliqué, patchwork, and nearly every other style of quilting.

Batik Fabrics

Batik quilting fabrics are loved for their saturated color, organic texture, and distinctive hand-dyed appearance.

Use batiks in traditional quilts, contemporary projects, appliqué, landscape quilts, foundation paper piecing, and designs where rich color and movement are part of the appeal.

Digital Prints

Digital printing allows extraordinary color, detail, shading, and imagery to appear on quilting fabric.

From breathtaking florals and landscapes to realistic animals and richly colored seasonal artwork, digital prints can become the focal point of a quilt or project.

Flannel

Soft, warm flannel is a favorite for cozy quilts, baby projects, seasonal sewing, and projects designed to be used and loved.

Panels

Fabric panels provide ready-made focal artwork that can become the centerpiece of a quilt, wall hanging, pillow, or other sewing project.

Pair a panel with coordinating fabrics, borders, blocks, or appliqué to create a project that looks elaborate without requiring every element to be pieced individually.

Premium 100% Cotton Quilting Fabric

For traditional quilting, 100% cotton quilting fabric remains the foundation of the craft.

Quality quilting cotton provides the stability, consistency, durability, and ease of handling quilters rely on for accurate cutting and piecing.

Shabby Fabrics carries an extensive assortment of premium quilting cotton from leading manufacturers, ranging from feature prints and designer collections to backgrounds, blenders, solids, tonals, seasonal fabrics, and specialty prints.

Our goal isn't simply to offer more fabric. It's to offer beautiful, high-quality fabrics worth putting your time into.

A quilt can take days, weeks, months, or even years to complete. The fabric deserves to be worthy of that investment.

Shop Precut Quilting Fabrics

Precuts make it easy to enjoy a coordinated selection of fabrics from a collection without purchasing yardage of every print.

Shabby Fabrics offers an extensive selection of precut fabrics and bundles in many of quilting's most popular formats.

Jelly Rolls & 2.5" Strips

Jelly Rolls contain coordinated 2.5" fabric strips and are ideal for strip quilts, log cabin-inspired designs, borders, bindings, and countless precut-friendly projects.

Have a Jelly Roll ready to use? Browse our Jelly Roll Friendly Quilt Patterns for inspiration.

Layer Cakes & 10" Squares

Layer Cake 10" Squares provide generous squares from coordinating collections and work beautifully for patchwork quilts, large blocks, half-square triangles, and many other designs.

Pair them with our Layer Cake Friendly Quilt Patterns.

Charm Packs & 5" Squares

Charm Packs offer coordinated 5" squares that make it easy to bring many prints from a collection into one project.

Explore our Charm Pack Quilt Patterns to put those squares to work.

Mini Charm Packs

Tiny but incredibly versatile, Mini Charm Packs are wonderful for small patchwork, borders, accents, bags, table projects, and scrappy designs.

Find projects specifically designed for them in our Mini Charm Friendly Quilt Patterns.

Fat Quarter Bundles

Fat Quarter Bundles give quilters generous cuts of multiple coordinating fabrics and are among the most versatile precuts for patchwork, appliqué, bags, quilts, and home décor.

Pair a bundle with one of our Fat Quarter Quilt Patterns.

Fat Eighth Bundles

Fat Eighth Bundles provide a wonderful assortment of coordinating prints while using less fabric per design than a fat quarter bundle.

Explore our Fat Eighth Friendly Quilt Patterns to find projects designed around this useful precut.

From Fabric to Finished Quilt

One of the advantages of shopping for fabric at Shabby Fabrics is that we're designers and makers too.

We don't look at fabric only as merchandise on a bolt. We're constantly thinking about what it can become.

A collection might inspire an original quilt, Quilt Kit, Appliqué Kit, Patchwork Quilt Kit, Table Runner Kit, Table Topper Kit, Wall Hanging Kit, or an original Shabby Fabrics pattern.

That maker's perspective influences the fabrics we select and the way we coordinate collections, precuts, patterns, and projects.

Discover Fabric Remnants Before They're Gone

Sometimes the smallest category holds the biggest treasure.

Our Fabric Remnants are the remaining portions from the ends of fabric bolts.

In some cases, that remnant may be the last piece of that fabric we will ever have.

That can make remnants especially exciting when a collection has sold through, a fabric has been discontinued, or you need just enough of a hard-to-find print to finish a project.

Remnants are useful for patchwork, appliqué, scrappy quilts, small projects, stash building, and those moments when you discover a favorite fabric just before it's gone.

Because remnant quantities are inherently limited, once a particular piece sells, it may not return.

Why Buy Quilting Fabric from Shabby Fabrics?

Shabby Fabrics is more than a place to buy fabric online. We're quilters, designers, educators, and makers, and fabric is at the heart of what we do.

With more than 20,000 fabrics and precuts to choose from, our assortment spans leading manufacturers, sought-after designers, complete collections, an extraordinary variety of colors and themes, specialty fabric types, quilting basics, seasonal favorites, wide backings, panels, and popular precut formats.

But selection alone isn't enough.

We carefully curate the fabrics we bring into Shabby Fabrics, looking for quality, beauty, coordination, and project potential. We use those fabrics ourselves when developing original patterns, quilt kits, appliqué projects, Block of the Month programs, table runners, wall hangings, and educational projects.

Whether you're looking for premium 100% cotton quilting fabric, a favorite designer collection, Christmas fabric, floral fabric, patriotic fabric, reproduction fabric, batiks, flannel, a quilt panel, 108" backing, Jelly Roll, Layer Cake, Charm Pack, fat quarter bundle, or one last coveted remnant, Shabby Fabrics offers an extensive, carefully selected fabric collection to help you create something beautiful.

One of the Best Selections of 100% Cotton Quilting Fabric Online

Does Shabby Fabrics carry every quilting fabric available? No—and that's intentional.

Shabby Fabrics is an online quilt shop that carries one of the best selections of 100% cotton quilting fabrics, but every fabric we see doesn't automatically earn a place in our shop. With more than 20,000 fabrics and precuts to choose from, our selection is extensive, but it is also carefully curated.

As quilters, designers, and makers ourselves, we're selective about the fabrics we carry. We look for high-quality quilting cottons from trusted manufacturers, along with beautiful color, print quality, design, and fabrics we believe are worthy of the time and creativity our customers invest in their projects. If a fabric doesn't meet our quality standards, we don't carry it.

That means you'll find an extraordinary range of premium quilting cotton—from designer collections and feature prints to backgrounds, blenders, solids, tonals, seasonal fabrics, reproduction prints, florals, basics, and specialty designs—without our trying to carry every fabric simply for the sake of having more.

A quilt can take days, weeks, months, or even years to complete. We believe the fabric should be worthy of the work you put into it.

That's why our goal isn't to carry every quilting fabric. It's to offer an exceptional selection of beautiful, high-quality quilting fabrics that we would be excited to sew with ourselves.
