Product Design Assistant
Full Time, non-exempt - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Job Summary

The Product Designer will drive new product creation based on new fabric collections and market demand. The Product Designer will also drive creative content for YouTube tutorials and DIY videos.

Duties / Responsibilities

· Provide art direction on small and large-scale projects from creative conception to completion

· Offer creative vision for projects; play an active role in contributing conceptual ideas in brainstorms or offline creative development

· Develop projects to increase ancillary spending

· Develop creative content for YouTube including tutorials and DIY crafting projects

· Create movement and dynamic visuals through pattern and color

· Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques and other developments in quilting and “making”

· Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics

· Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs

· Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects

· Conduct market research to identify key consumer trends in the market

· Translates certain consumer trends into product concepts

· Professionally present ideas and information to others with confidence

Required Skills / Abilities

· Demonstrated ability to create breathtaking designs

· An eye for compelling design

· Excited about working on a wide variety of projects

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent arithmetic and computation skills, especially pertaining to measurements (i.e. yards, inches)

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Must be a self-starter / motivated with minimal supervision

· Strong leadership skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate

· Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

· Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for prolonged periods of time

· Must be able to distinguish between colors
