The Thread Director

The Thread Director changes the orientation of the sewing machine's spool pin allowing threads to feed untwisted or flat through the tension discs. The result is a more uniform and flatter seam for a more professional looking project. It also helps eliminate breaking of metallic, polyester and invisible threads!

We recommend using Schmetz Metallic Needles - Size 90/14 5ct.

Summary:

Cross wound threads feed off the spool smoothly with this tool, whether using metallic, cotton, or polyester varieties, and it works well even on a professional machine. One customer found it fit perfectly on a HasqvanaViking, despite initial doubts, and is eager to put it to use. Another described it as a “cool gizmo” and is waiting to see how it performs. There’s interest in testing it on upright posts as well as on a thread winder post.

Thread director

I was kinda afraid that this device wouldn’t work on my HasqvanaViking but to my surprise it fit perfectly. Now I can’t wait to get it put into useage.

Thread Director and cross wound thread.

I really like the way cross wound threads come off the spool so smoothly. I have been using it not only for metallic threads but also cotton and polyester threads. I have a professional machine. Although it fits nicely on my thread winder post I am thinking of trying it on my upright posts.
