Cardinal Fabrics Inspired by Nature

Cardinals give Cardinal's Nest its distinctive identity. Their beautiful red coloring creates a natural focal point against the collection's warm tan backgrounds and coordinating traditional prints.

The cardinal designs are complemented by branches, leaves, vines, and delicate florals, creating a harmonious assortment inspired by birds and the outdoors. Use the bird prints in larger quilt blocks to showcase the motifs, then surround them with smaller-scale coordinates for a balanced patchwork design.

Cardinals are popular in winter and Christmas quilting, but the traditional colors and botanical details of Cardinal's Nest also make it suitable for year-round sewing.

Rich Cardinal Reds, Warm Tans, and Traditional Coordinates

Cardinal's Nest uses a focused color palette to create warmth and visual depth.

Rich reds bring color and contrast to the cardinal and floral motifs, while warm tans provide a softer foundation that complements the collection's traditional aesthetic. Tonal variations introduce lighter and darker values, allowing quilters to create contrast without introducing unrelated colors.

The coordinating fabrics include florals, leaves, vines, stars, dots, geometric designs, and swirls. These smaller-scale prints are especially useful for pieced quilt blocks, sashing, borders, bindings, and projects where subtle contrast enhances the overall design.
