Meet Moda Designer Chrissy Lux

Spooky Season is designed by Chrissy Lux, a Moda Fabrics designer with a particularly strong connection to practical projects quilters can actually finish and use.

Chrissy has been sewing bags, totes and quilts for more than 20 years. In 2010, she and her mother, Linda, started Sew Lux Fabric. A pouch Chrissy designed to showcase Mini Charm Packs eventually led to a monthly pouch club, which has been running since 2017. 

That background makes Spooky Season especially interesting. This isn't simply a collection of Halloween yardage—the scale and coordination of the prints lend themselves beautifully to the kinds of bags, runners, pillows and smaller projects Chrissy has spent years designing.

Ghosts, Pumpkins and Spiders

Spooky Season delivers the Halloween icons we love without becoming scary.

Smiling white ghosts mingle with pumpkins, spiders and tiny stars on the collection's feature print. Another print scatters simple orange pumpkins across a cream background, while tiny black spiders march across pumpkin orange.

Unlike the collection's premium cotton yardage, the panel is 70% cotton and 30% linen, giving it a different hand and more substance than standard quilting cotton.

The printed panel contains the pieces and instructions for making Halloween projects including a Trick or Treat tote and a coordinating fabric container/basket that's perfect for holding candy or adding Halloween décor to your home.
